Slesers hopes that For A Good Latvia will be highly successful in the upcoming 10th Saeima elections and will be the one to determine the composition of the new government. He said that portfolios are only granted to people who are strong and willing to defend the national interests of Latvia.

Slesers explained that the next foreign ministry as well as the entire Latvian ambassadors abroad will have the majority of their time to help Latvian businesspeople abroad.

Andris Skele who was named finance minister by For A Good Latvia, said that Latvia should be able to achieve its economic independence, as “if we must carry the burden of debt for years, no national growth will be possible.”

Skele and For A Good Latvia board chair Andrejs Ekis both acknowledged Slesers for his accomplishments. Ainārs Šlesers They both said that Slesers has proven that a Riga boy can become successful in business, earn lots of money and also be wealthy. Slesers also has captivating ideas. Ekis said Slesers as a “businessman who has wandered into politics” and then went on to say, “I wish there was someone in Latvia who would give me a sense of pride.”

Slesers pointed out the importance of having a purpose as the main method of achieving it. The government currently in power and headed by Valdis Dimbrovskis, (New Era), “is trying sedate the nation and telling the people all will be fine.” It’s extremely risky to live off credit because the money borrowed must be returned.

Ainars Slesers Slesers was critical of other political parties’ candidates to become the next prime minister. Ainars Slesers Roberts Zile (For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK), has remained in Brussels and does not want to relocate to Latvia in order to take on the post of prime minister. He’ll have to put in more effort and earn less, Slesers stated.

The Union of Greens and Farmers candidate Aivars is in similar issues and will hardly change his life in Ventspils to take on the post of premier in Riga.

For A Good Latvia is ready to collaborate with Janis Urbanovics of Harmony Center, who has extensive experience in the parliament, but Urbanovics will not be appointed as the prime minister due to the fact that the party is not able to provide him with enough experience in business the country, according to Slesers.

Dombrovskis last but certainly not least, will only be voted for only if you are in favor of the ongoing “international finance occupation of Latvia”.

Slesers on the other side will help people make money, gain access to international markets and live with dignity. He also announced that Guntis Ulmanis would be his first assistant in the running of the government. Slesers can turn to Ulmanis to seek advice.

Slesers said also that The government of A Good Latvia would see that Biblical studies were introduced to every school starting September 1st next year.

After the meeting, For A Good Latvia representatives took part in a celebration of flowers at the Freedom Monument.
